UK Ban on Ransom Payments

The United Kingdom recently proposed a law that prohibits public organizations and critical infrastructures from paying ransoms in the event of ransomware attacks.

This initiative aims to cut off the flow of money to cybercriminals, making attacks on public institutions less attractive.

In Italy, however, there is no similar regulation yet, and companies can independently decide whether to pay a ransom.

I believe our country should take a cue from the United Kingdom and introduce a law that bans the payment of cyber ransoms.

Such a step would be crucial to effectively counter the ransomware phenomenon and protect our critical infrastructures.
