These days, robots do much more than just help us cook or clean the house—they ride bikes, go for runs, and even understand our moods.
That’s exactly what GO-1 Lingxi does, a new humanoid recently unveiled in China by AgiBot. It stands out for one key feature: it can sense emotions by reading our facial expressions and listening to our tone of voice, reacting almost in real time.
Not only that, it moves naturally—it can even ride a bicycle simply by observing how we do it.
And this isn’t just a marketing gimmick or a tech demo; these are real robots, designed to assist us at home (especially with the elderly) or in everyday tasks.
Meanwhile, companies like Xpeng, the Chinese electric vehicle giant, have nearly $14 billion ready to invest in humanoids. Over in the United States, Dexterity AI is building robots to rapidly assemble solar installations, and Pony AI is expanding its robotaxi fleet.
All of this means one thing: robots aren’t coming—they’ve already arrived, and they’re changing our lives, our jobs, and even our homes.
Are we ready? Probably not…
