McDonald’s Embraces AI Labor

McDonald’s is starting to replace human labor with AI-based systems.

Automated drive-ins, voice orders taken by digital assistants, and kitchens run by smart software that decides when to cook, how to assemble, and in what order to serve.

But I believe the next step will be that McDonald’s—and other chains—will begin using actual robots that do everything on their own, with just one human employee remotely overseeing the entire process.

In short, the classic phrase “I started working at McDonald’s” might become increasingly rare, because the entry-level job that once helped so many get into the workforce is radically changing.

In other words… we’re facing a huge social and cultural shift.

The problem isn’t just that many young people will lose their first job opportunities; it’s that entire sectors could transform into something we don’t yet fully understand.
