European AI Act

When I was working on the commission to define the artificial intelligence law, it was already crystal clear that corporate skills would become a decisive issue.

Now, with the arrival of the European AI Act, the matter is no longer theoretical — it’s law: starting February 2025, every company is required to provide specific training to all individuals working with AI systems, whether internal or external.

A simple general introduction to AI is no longer enough: the regulation explicitly demands targeted, detailed, and practical training on topics like risk management, compliance with personal data protection laws, core ethical principles, and the technical skills needed to properly integrate AI into business processes.

Some companies — the ones that have been more forward-thinking and proactive — understood this a long time ago.

I’ve held dozens of events where, in just an hour, I covered the essential basics that many still lack. These have included internal sessions for employees as well as public events involving the entire stakeholder ecosystem. (If you’re interested, feel free to reach out to my team at [email protected].)

But there are still many companies that are stuck at the starting line.

This is no longer a choice. It’s a legal obligation, and those who fail to comply risk facing significant penalties.

The time to act has truly arrived.
